Courses

Qualifications

Good personality, physical fitness, vision, concentration, ability to grasp things easily and make quick decisions are all crucial. A job like being an air hostess involves dealing with a variety of people.

Must have good communication skills and patience. Careers in the aviation sector have a huge responsibility when it comes to passenger safety. Plustu is the basic qualification for the courses.

For courses in technical category plus in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. Engineering degrees like B.Tech and aerospace courses should have 70 percent marks. Although these three subjects are not mandatory for air hospitality courses, some institutes consider them as qualifications.

Main Courses

1. BBA in Airport Management

Three year degree course. MBA is also an option after this course with specialization in Airport Management. Airport management, human resources, accounting, financial management, marketing, security etc. all come under this.

2. Diploma in Airport Management

A one year diploma course in airport management. After this you can enroll for Post Graduate Diploma Course in Airport Management.

Airport Safety and Functioning, Cargo Management and Handling, Staff Management and Safety and Security Management are the main subjects studied.

Opportunity at domestic and international airports. Graduates can get opportunities in the posts of Airport Manager, Assistant Manager, Cargo Department Manager.

3. Commercial Pilot Training

The course consists of practical training and theory and is expensive. Those who successfully pass the course get a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). Basic qualification is plus two with 45-50 percent marks. In some institutes there will be an aptitude test and an interview for the training.

4. Diploma in Aviation Hospitality

One year Diploma in Hospitality in Aviation sector. The training includes communication skills, catering, foreign language and front office operation. There are opportunities like cabin crew, ground staff and office operator.

5. Aeronautical Engineering

Four year B.E./ B.Tech. course. In the field of aviation. This is a technical course. Major subjects are aircraft manufacturing, design and maintenance. Admission is based on entrance exams conducted at national or state level. Chief Engineer, Research and Development Department Engineer, Design Engineer and many other opportunities will be available.

6. B.Sc. Aviation

Three year undergraduate course. The main topics are air regulation, navigation, weather, aircraft and engine, air traffic control and safety. There are opportunities in areas such as air traffic controller, ground operation staff, cargo management and traffic.

7. A.M.E. (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering)

Three years technical training course. The course consists of two and a half years of academic study and six months of internship. Successful passers will get Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License from DGCA. This includes aircraft inspection, maintenance, aircraft servicing etc. Opportunities are available in private and public sector airlines, aviation institutes, flying schools and aircraft maintenance institutes.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is posing a strong challenge to private research institutes in the United States in the field of space research.
